From the beginning of September to Early November 2017, I had the incredible opportunity to work as studio intern at Philip Treacy. This role required extremely precise hand stitching skills, attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure. My time spent at the studio was one of the most transformative, inspiring and educational of my journey so far.
I worked with the team finishing off ready-to-wear hats, and gained more complex tasks as I progressed. Being trusted to crystallise and decorate hats for high-profile customers such as Rihanna and Grace Jones was an honour. Additionally, I was requested as stitcher by Philip himself, stitching his visions for some spring sample hats.
Above are examples of the hats I was working on for the AW 17 Collection. This was all production; making hats to order for private clients and retail buyers. Photography by Kurtiss Lloyd, modelled by Georgie Hobday and Brian Altemus, hair and makeup by Susana Mota.
